Bangladesh Calligraphy Foundation expressed its support for Saudi Arabia

 

Bangladesh Calligraphy Foundation expressed its support for Saudi Arabia after its President Mohammad Abdur Rahim spearheaded a special meeting with senior calligraphers of Bangladesh to assess the situation in the Middle East.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led a coalition of nine Arab nations and conducted air strikes against the Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Houthi rebels ousted Yemeni President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi and took over main parts of the country. 

Saudi Arabia’s military operation against the Houthi rebels in Yemen is supported by Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Sudan. These predominantly Sunni Muslim countries formed a military coalition called “Operation al-Hazm Storm” or “Operation Decisive Storm.” and it’s a right decision for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Bangladesh Calligraphy Foundation expressed its support for Saudi Arabia after its President Mohammad Abdur Rahim spearheaded a special meeting with senior calligraphers of Bangladesh to assess the situation in the Middle East.

In a statement, Bangladesh Calligraphy Foundation said, “The meeting concluded that Bangladesh Calligraphy Foundation remains firmly committed to supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia in accordance with the aspirations of the calligraphers of Bangladesh.”

In addition, Bangladesh Calligraphy Foundation said its president Mohammad Abdur Rahim will be contacting the leadership of brotherly calligraphy organizations to facilitate an early resolution of the crisis and promote peace and unity of the Muslim community.

তুরস্কে ওআইসি'র সাংস্কৃতিক বিভাগ রিসার্স সেন্টার ফর ইসলামিক হিস্ট্রি, আর্ট এন্ড কালচার (আইআরসিআইসিএ)-এর নবম আন্তর্জাতিক ক্যালিগ্রাফি প্রতিযোগিতায় প্রথমবারের মত বাংলাদেশ থেকে প্রখ্যাত লিপিশিল্পী মোহাম্মদ আবদুর রহীম ও ওসমান হায়াত, কুফি শৈলিতে পুরস্কার অর্জন করেন। তারা ইনসেন্টিভ এ্যাওয়ার্ড লাভ করেন। এ প্রতিযোগিতায় ৩৯টি দেশের ৬৭২ জন শিল্পীর ৯শ আর্টওয়ার্ক জমা পড়ে। এর মধ্যে ২৩টি দেশের ৭৭ জন লিপিশিল্পী পুরস্কার অর্জন করেন। পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্তদেরকে নগদ অর্থ, সনদ এবং পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্ত আর্টওয়ার্ক সম্বলিত একটি আকর্ষণীয় ক্যাটালগ দেয়া হবে।

মোহাম্মদ আবদুর রহীম বাংলাদেশ ক্যালিগ্রাফি ফাউন্ডেশনের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি এবং ক্যালিগ্রাফি সোসাইটির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সেক্রেটারি। তিনি এক দশকের বেশি সময় ধরে ক্যালিগ্রাফির ট্রেডিশনাল ও পেইন্টিং বিষয়ে শিক্ষকতা করছেন। তিনি ২০০৯ সালে ইরানে বিসমিল্লাহ ক্যালিগ্রাফি লোগো প্রতিযোগিতায় এ্যাওয়ার্ড এবং আইসেসকো ইসলামিক হেরিটেজ ঢাকা-২০১২'র ১ম পুরস্কার অর্জন করেন। তিনি ক্যালিগ্রাফি ফেস্টিভ্যাল ও ওয়ার্কশপে অংশগ্রহনের জন্য ইরান ও আলজেরিয়া সফর করেছেন। ক্যালিগ্রাফির তত্ত্বীয় ও ব্যহারিক বিষয়ে তার লেখা ৬টি বই প্রকাশিত হয়েছে।

ওসমান হয়াত বাংলাদেশ ক্যালিগ্রাফি ফাউন্ডেশনের সদস্য ও ট্রেডিশনাল ক্যালিগ্রাফি বিষয়ে ওস্তাদ মোহাম্মদ আবদুর রহীমের কাছে শিক্ষা লাভ ও সনদ পেয়েছেন। তিনি হাফেজে কুরআন। আইসেসকো ইসলামিক হেরিটেজ ঢাকা-২০১২'র জুনিয়র গ্রুপে ৩য় পুরস্কার অর্জন করেন।

তুরস্কের ইস্তাম্বুলে ওআইসি'র সাংস্কৃতিক বিভাগ রিসার্স সেন্টার ফর ইসলামিক হিস্ট্রি, আর্ট এন্ড কালচার (আইআরসিআইসিএ) প্রতি তিন বছর পর পর এ প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করে। এবার নবম প্রতিযোগিতা ওআইসি'র মহাসচিব ইকলেমেদ্দিন ইসানগলু'র নামে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়॥ এই প্রতিযোগিতা ধারাবাহিকভাবে অনুষ্ঠানে ইকলেমেদ্দিনের অসামান্য অবদান রয়েছে। ১৯৮৬ সালে ১ম প্রতিযোগিতা বিখ্যাত লিপিশিল্পী হামিদ আল আমিদী(১৮৯১-১৯৮২) নামে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ১৯৮৯ সালে ২য় প্রতিযোগিতা ইয়াকুত আল মুস্তাসিমী(মৃ.১২৯৮) নামে; ১৯৯২ সালে ৩য় প্রতিযোগিতা ইবনে বাওয়াব(মৃ.১০২২) নামে; ১৯৯৭ সালে ৪র্থ প্রতিযোগিতা শেখ হামদুল্লাহ(১৪২৯-১৫২০) নামে; ২০০০ সালে ৫ম প্রতিযোগিতা সাইয়েদ ইবরাহীম(১৮৯৭-১৯৯৪) নামে; ২০০৩ সালে ৬ষ্ঠ প্রতিযোগিতা মীর ইমাদ আল হাসানী(১৫৫৪-১৬১৫) নামে; ২০০৬ সালে ৭ম প্রতিযোগিতা ইরাকী ক্যালিগ্রাফার হাশিম মুহাম্মদ আল বাগদাদী(১৯১৭-১৯৭৩) নামে এবং ২০০৯ সালে ৮ম প্রতিযোগিতা সিরিয়ার ক্যালিগ্রাফার মুহাম্মদ বাদাবী আল দিরানী(১৮৯৪-১৯৬৭) নামে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তি।

Islamic Cultural Heritage of Bangladesh is very rich and wealthy. Especially, in Dhaka, mosque of Sultans and Mughals era are so beautiful on aesthetic architectural view and its elegant ornaments. I try to paint our proud-full heritage in my own way.


This is Khan Mohammad Mirdha's Mosque of Old city of Dhaka. In this mosque is very important for architectural point, here are mixed Sultans and Mughals aesthetic matter both implement in a professional perspective.

Jukhrufa Arabia is important part of Islamic Art. I made new two Jukhrufa.

Bengal Tughra Calligraphy is world famous calligraphy style. In 1200 to 1500 A.D independent Bengal Sultans are active role to express this calligraphy in the world. Now, I try to revive this heritage of Bengal as well as possible. This is very elegant and imagine calligraphy style. this style established strong Bengal art ability in the world. We proud and influence by Bengal Tughra.   

Jukhrufa Arabia is first time going in Bangladesh. I learn it from Algeria in 2010. I feel this art are very important for our society. I hope, near future Jukhrufa Arabia will most popular in our country.
